What this policy covers
This is what VSHosting does with your personal information, both when you are just looking around the site and once you are a customer. It sits alongside our Terms and Conditions.
What the website collects
The contact form asks for three things: your name, your email address and your message. Our servers also keep the ordinary access logs every web server keeps, which include your IP address, the page you asked for and the time you asked for it. Those logs are there for security and for working out what broke.
What we collect when you sign up
Taking up hosting, a domain or an email account means we need the account and billing details to set you up and invoice you, plus the registrant details that domain registries require by law. Card details are handled by the payment provider, not by us.
What we do with it
We answer your enquiry, run the services you have signed up for, bill you for them, and keep the records SARS and the domain registries expect us to keep. We do not sell or rent your details, and we do not use them to market at you on anyone else's behalf.
Who else is involved
Only the suppliers it takes to run the service: the registries that hold domain registrations, our payment provider, and the providers that carry our email and protect the contact form from bots. Beyond that, we hand your information over only where the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This site carries no advertising cookies, no analytics script and no cross-site tracking. Nothing here follows you once you leave.
How long we keep it
Enquiries go once the conversation is over. Account and billing records stay for as long as the law requires us to hold them, and we delete them after that.
Your rights under POPIA
You can ask to see what we hold on you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, tell us, and you can take the matter to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
